A Professor from back home at St. Mary’s recently sent me this page from the Failed States Index. For those of you unfamiliar with FSI, they rate how unstable states are and come out with a yearly report that says who’s good (generally most western democracies) and who’s bad (parts of Africa and the Middle East). What this little chart tells us is that France is not doing so well. In fact, Sudan and Uganda, generally thought of as more unstable than EU countries like France, are in a better place on the list.
So, will I soon be living in a failed state? I certainly hope not.
